DV Time Stamp is provided to you, the user, as is without warranty of any kind. By using DV Time Stamp, the user assumes the liability and responsibility of any effect DV Time Stamp may have to his/her computer system.

Application Scenario

When videos recorded on a DV camcorder tape are captured into DV AVI files on a PC system, the time codes (date/time when the tape was made) are transferred along with the video/audio data to the files. But the time codes are not visible when you view the DV AVI files. When you use DVD author tools to convert the DV AVI files to DVD files, the time codes get lost. By using DV Time Stamp, the time codes are extracted from the DV AVI files and superimposed onto the videos. This way the date/time will be visible when you view the DV AVI file, consequently the DVD you make from the DV AVI files will have date/time displayed.

Installation

Extract the files from dvtimestamp-*.zip to a folder. Be sure to put both dtswin.exe and dtswin.chm in the same folder, otherwise the help system won't work.

Starting from Version 3.81, DV Time Stamp needs mfc70u.dll and msvcr70.dll (both are Microsoft dynamic linked libraries) to run. If your computer does not have these already, please download them at http://dts8888.com/download.htm, extract the dll from the zip file and put it into your computer's system directory (typically C:\Windows\system32).
